My Childhood
I grew up in the small town in Ohio. I was adopted by my parents Al and Denise. I have a sister that is five years older than me, Lindsey. She is adopted as well. I was bullied a lot as a kid. That really shows in my writing. If I had to pick one thing that really shaped me and determined who I am as a person today, it would be that. I had a really close friend when I was little; her name is Molly. She shaped my childhood and broke my heart when she moved.
Fast forward past all the boring stuff and bam! You have middle school Kelly. In 7th grade, my Language Arts teacher gave us a writing assignment. That is when I fell in love with writing.
High School
I knew that writing wasn't just some hobby anymore. I met a friend over the Internet and she motivated me and my writing. I completed Camp NaNoWriMo in July 2014, completing a story with 50,000 words in only 12 days. That story was a badly written, terribly plotted fanfiction, but it made my passion grow even more. Later in November of 2014, I won NaNoWriMo, and The Surpisingly Ordinary Life of a Kidnapper's Daughter was born.
I am now a sophomore writing two more books and published in an anthology called The Tenants of Building 38. I am excited to see where my writing career will take me.
